Does your ABS brake light stay on? There are many reasons why the abs brake light stays on. Modern cars do a self test of all the auto-electrical circuits for the abs brake system. If there is a fault in any one of the 4 wheel speed sensors, within the wiring, the connections, the computers, the abs pump then the abs light will stay on until every fault is fixed. There may only be one fault or there could be a number of faults.

To fix the fault & turn off the light we need to check the history of faults logged inside the cars computer. Geddes will connect their computer scanner and read these faults. We will then test the parts listed as faulty. We will discuss what we find with you and suggest what repairs are required. We can reset the abs brake light but if there is still a fault in the ABS brake system the light will turn back on.

ABS BRAKES AUTO REPAIR COST

If there has just been a electrical glitch (spike??) in voltage then a simple scanner connection and fault reset could be as little as $80 + GST.

If there is a bad ABS brake wiring connection, these can be easy or difficult to find so could be as little as $120 to $250 + GST.

If it is a wheel speed sensor (ABS wheel speed sensor), then these repairs range from around $180 to $400 + GST.

If you need another ABS brake computer, second hand these range $200 to $400 + GST plus testing & fitting. New computers vary greatly from $400 to $1500 + GST plus testing & fitting. Sometimes these can be repaired POA.
